Sculpture Painting Drawing Photo Emulsion Projects
Initiated as a response to building construction and tear-downs, I make representational paintings and sculptures of residential architecture using reclaimed material like wood and glass windows extracted from urban and suburban structures. My mixed-media works are based on home designs, signage, and photographs. As a manifestation of my discomfort with real estate economy, my works intend to question if the deconstruction or construction of architectural space is a reflection of an individual, a community, or society today.

My art is best described as site-responsive and collaborative. Made for indoor and outdoor exhibition, the location that an artwork is seen is as important as the form, material, and design used in its construction. My studio practice also involves drawings, project proposals, scale models, and consultation with engineers since a location often precedes a painting or sculpture and many factors, including public participation and safety, must be considered before realization.

As real estate economies are constantly in flux, I continue to develop a language to most effectively visually communicate my experiences living in a built environment always under construction.
